We hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy! Below are some updates of how we plan to run our operations at Chabad at Purdue this semester.
PreparationBefore you arrived on campus, we worked on creating a plan with our task force, including the following: Cleaning and disinfecting our Chabad House. Creating a plan to maintain social distancing standards Developing an RSVP system for capacity management and tracing Chabad House restrictions & ‘touch points’ limitation (communal areas, shareditems, food preparation) Creating a health screening checklist for anyone who will enter our Chabad House |

ShabbosHere at Purdue University, and for thousands of years, Shabbat is a mainstay of keeping our community together! Shabbat for the first couple of weeks before the High Holidays we will be offering two options: - Shabbat to go packages. Sign up by 4pm Wed. to receive your package - Shabbat meals outside with limited RSVP, and prior health screening. |
High HoldiaysWith one of the most auspicious times of the Jewish calendar quickly approaching, we are planning many options to serve the needs of our community here on campus with a range of options for you to choose from. Here are some possible tentative options: -A High Holiday Kit - a guide from the Rabbi, selected prayers for your dorm, homemade Challah and honey cake -Shofar blowing at various locations around campus (times and location TBA) -Outdoor tent with small group service with participants RSVPs, prior health screening, and maintaining social distancing - masks and 6 feet apart -Shofar and Tashlich service at Tapawingo park bridge on Sunday Sep. 20 at 4pm. Learning OppurtunitiesThere will be a wide array of learning opportunities available this semester. -One-on-one learning opportunities with the Rabbi and Shaindy -Small group learning opportunities - requiring RSVPs, prior health screening, and maintaining social distancing (masks and 6 feet apart) -Virtual opportunities on Zoom. -All of the above TBA. |
